April 14, 2015, Washington, D.C. – The Digestive Health Physicians Association® (DHPA®) today applauded the Senate’s bipartisan passage of H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015.
“For the first time in 12 years, Congress has passed a permanent solution to a flawed system. After such resounding approval in the House, we are pleased to see passage of this bipartisan legislation in the Senate to improve our nation’s health care delivery system,” said Scott R. Ketover, M.D., President and Chairman of the Board of DHPA.
“The historic legislation to repeal the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) will eliminate the recurrence of temporary ‘patches,’ which have previously been a significant burden for taxpayers. H.R. 2 will improve health care delivery for patients and preserve seniors’ access to health care, while strengthening the Medicare program for beneficiaries and physicians,” said Ketover.
